Babies 'N' Blocks

Babies ‘N’ Blocks started as a home day care in 2001. We opened our fully licensed childcare centre in Oshawa in 2004. Babies ‘N’ Blocks expanded in 2007 to accommodate up to 74 children.

Through our most recent expansion in 2011, we introduced programs for infants and toddlers while increasing our enrolment capacity to 85 children. For your child’s safety, we are a nut and strawberry free environment

Programs

Infant and Toddler Programs

  • Since 2011, we have offered programs for infants and toddlers. If you have questions about any of our programs, please call and speak to a member of our friendly staff. We are pleased to offer drop offs and pick ups at local schools along with before and after school care.

Summer Camp (2 to 12 years)

  • We offer an exciting summer camp adventure for your children! There are daily themes and activities, trips, local outings, crafts, sports, swimming, drama and more. All snacks and lunch are included.

Preschool Room (2 to 5 years)

  • Our preschool program assists your family in getting your little ones ready for school. The children will enjoy both free and structured outdoor activities. While in the classroom, they experience learning through creative activities, cognitive activities, sensory exploration and free play. Children in this program are encouraged to problem solve as they build confidence through decision making.

Nursery School (2.5 to 5 years)

  • This is an amazing school readiness program that will teach your child social, cognitive, motor and emotional skills through activities including science, arts and crafts, dramatic play and group circle time. We focus on socialization as they learn the basic tools needed for a successful foray into kindergarten. Your child will graduate from this class suitably prepared for the expectations and requirements of the school board kindergarten curriculum. For added convenience, nursery school is offered on a flexible, part-time basis.

Junior & Senior Kindergarten (3 to 6 years)

  • Our JK/SK program offers your family drop-offs and pick-ups at school. We teach children the many skills that complement their in-school learning.

School Age Program (6 to 12 years)

  • Our school age program includes drop-offs and pick-ups from schools, themed programs and homework assistance. Our school age room is a place where the children build strong social relationships. They are highly involved in all areas of programming and activities.

Terms and Conditions

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents.
Infant Room - 10 children, under 18 months of age
Toddler room - 15 children, 18 months of age and over up to and including 30 months of age
Preschool Room - 16 children, more than 30 months of age up to and including 5 years of age
JK\SK Room - 20 children, 44 months of age or over up to and including 67 months of age as of August 31 of the year
School Age Room 2 - 14 children, 68 months of age or over as of August 31 of the year and up to and including 12 years of age
School Age Room 1 - 10 children, 68 months of age or over as of August 31 of the year and up to and including 12 years of age
All individual emergency plans to be reviewed by staff, students and volunteers. To be completed by January 15, 2015 and by July 15, 2015. A written record of each review to be maintained and available for the next licensing inspection.

Director's Approval

Ministry Director approval is granted to allow mixed age grouping as per s.55(2).
