The Northern Montessori School was established in 2001 in Newmarket to bring the teachings and philosophy of Montessori to our local community.
Northern Montessori is a carefully prepared environment designed to facilitate the development of the children's independence and sense of personal empowerment. This is the children's community.
Observers have described children educated according to the Montessori system as being self-disciplined, self-confident, independent, and creative. They are said to be enthusiastic about learning, to concentrate well, and to have a good foundation in academic skills and in organized problem solving. Montessori educational care provides a framework in which intellectual and social development go hand in hand.
