St. John’s Cooperative Preschool Centre Inc. provides a part time toddler and preschool program for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Our Preschool has been in operation since 1960 and is proud to serve families in Stratford and Perth County. St. John’s Preschool operates as a not-for-profit organization and is generously supported by our local United Way.
Our Preschool’s approach to learning is through play and our program and classroom are set up in a way to provide opportunities for play-based learning. Our classroom schedule is both simple and flexible giving children a balance between freeplay and structured activities. We offer both morning and afternoon sessions for children giving flexibility to our parents and children’s needs. We are in operation September to June (no program in July and August). St. John’s incorporates the use of a large classroom, gym and outside playground. We follow and obey to the standards put in place by the Ministry of Education and Youth Services and the Day Nurseries Act.
The preschool experience is your child’s very first exposure to structured education. Our commitment to you is to ensure your child’s first school encounter is enriched with positive, nurturing experiences that promote self-esteem, confidence and the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten.

| The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents. The licensee shall ensure that the total licensed capacity is not exceeded at any time. |
| The licensee is approved to operate September-June on Monday - Friday from 8:30am-11:45am and from Monday - Thursday from 12:45pm-3:45pm. |
| The Preschool licensed capacity is based on the use of Preschool Room 1 for 16 children. |
