Withrow Childcare Centre is a licensed, not-for-profit centre that provides quality childcare located within the Withrow Avenue Public School. The centre has a licensed capacity for 69 children from two and one half years of age to twelve. These spaces are comprised of 24 pre-school and 45 school age spaces (Grades 1 through 6).
Withrow Childcare Centre provides a caring, stimulating and creative environment designed to motivate the children to develop emotionally, socially, intellectually, creative and physically. The centre emphasizes respect for the child, self-esteem and a positive self-concept. At the same time, the children are encouraged to respect others. The teacher's role is one of guidance and support.

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. Room 113 and 114 is licensed for a group of 20 JK/SK children until August 31, 2015 when the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect. Once the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect, Room 113 and 114 is licensed for a group of 26 JK/SK children. |
The operator shall monitor the minor holes in the playground asphalt and repair, as needed, to prevent tripping. |
The playground sandbox is not to be used by the children until a cover is provided to keep out animal waste and other contaminants and the sandbox has been cleaned and the sand in the box has been replaced. |

The operator shall review this information with parents at the time of enrolment and the information shall be included in the centre's parent handbook. The centre shall ensure back-up procedures are in place if a bag lunch is forgotten. |
The operator will continue to ensure there is enhanced staff supervision on the preschool playground while awaiting the repair to fence to bring it to the required height level. |
The centre supervisor will monitor the outdoor program to verify the children in attendance for 6 hours or more, receive 2 hours of outdoor play, weather permitting. |

The operator is required to keep on file at the premises an up-to-date shared space confirmation. This confirmation must include the primary use of the room during the school day and must be made available to Ministry of Education staff upon request. |
