WEEKEND SCRAMBLE SESSIONS
On Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, you can drop off your kids at TNC for 2 hours of supervised climbing (See below: you must book ahead). It’s a great way for kids to discover the love of climbing, and for you to have a break!
We’ll provide the staff to belay them in groups of 4 or less, as well as a harness and climbing shoes if desired. These sessions are very popular, and the spots often fill up fast. To help us schedule our staff efficiently, we ask that you call the gym at 416-398-7625 by Wednesday to guarantee a place for your children on the weekend by paying in advance.
YOUTH RECREATIONAL PROGRAM (age groups: 5-9, 10-12 and 13-18)
The Youth Recreational Program focuses on learning and refining the fundamentals of climbing: body position, footwork and movement, as well as learning hold types, grades and all the terminology to turn them into proper climbers!
The program runs three times a year: fall, winter and spring. Each program is 9 sessions long. For kids in the 5-9 year old group, each session is 90 minutes long; for those in the 10-12 & 13-18 year old groups, each session is 2 hours long. Kids in the older two categories also have the opportunity to learn how to top rope belay in a safe, supervised environment.
YOUTH COMPETITIVE TEAM
Team members train 2-3 times per week for 3 hours per practice. The members are selected through tryouts, and an invitation by the head coach. This year, we have 26 kids ranging from 6-17 years old on our Youth Competitive Team.
DAY CAMP (Ages 7-12)
Our staff-to-child ratio is 1:6, allowing the kids plenty of time to climb and keep them well supervised. The camp runs from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on Monday to Friday; half days are also available for PA Days. We run our day camp during March break, Passover break, all Summer long and over the 2-week Winter Break.
