Kids & Us Community Childcare and Family Education Centres is a community based, not for profit, charitable organization dedicated to meeting the need for accessible, rural child services in Grey and Bruce Counties.
We currently operate six Community Childcare Centres, an Ontario Early Years Centre and an additional ten Early Years outreach locations all dedicated to meeting the needs of children and families in our communities.
Our organisation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents who use our services. They provide leadership, feedback and guidance to our agency.

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. Guidelines and sample menus for preparing bag lunches/snacks which meet Canada's Food Guide, as well as procedures for refrigeration or the use of ice packs with bag lunches, shall be provided to each parent and posted at the centre. The operator shall review this information with parents at the time of enrolment and the information shall be included in the centre's parent handbook. The centre shall ensure back-up procedures are in place if a bag lunch/snack is forgotten. |
Kindergarten Room 4 is licensed for a group of 27 School-age children OR 20 JK/SK children until August 31, 2015 when the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect. Once the Child Care and Early Years Act comes into effect, Kindergarten Room 4 will be licensed for a group of 27 School-age children OR 26 JK/SK Children. |
Kindergarten Room 3 is licensed for a group of 20 JK/SK children until August 31, 2015 when the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect. Once the Child Care and Early Years Act comes into effect, Kindergarten Room 3 will be licensed for a group of 26 JK/SK Children. |
Director's Approval
Once the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect, director approval is granted for the use of an area with less than 2.58 square metres of unobstructed floor space in a licensed kindergarten, primary/junior school-age and/or junior school-age group, based on the licensed capacity, provided that the same room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group as set out in the shared space confirmation. |
Ministry Director Approval is granted to allow a bag lunch policy when children attend full days on PA days and school holidays. |
