Class Descriptions
For 6 - 36 month olds:
Share musical moments with your baby/toddler in a program designed to introduce the joys of music making. Parents, grandparents and caregivers will learn a repertoire of traditional nursery rhymes, bouncing rhymes, finger and toe plays, lullabies, singing games and instrument playing to share both in class and at home.
For 3-5 years olds:
Programming espouses the philosophies of Carl Orff, Zoltan Kodlay and Emile Jaques Dalcroze. Young children are invited to come see, hear do and learn through musical activities embracing movement, playing, listening and the voice iin speech, rhyme, chant, song and singing games. Joyful music making for your child.
For 6 - 10 years olds:
An active approach to music education, students are involved in movement, singing, speech and work with the Orff instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels etc). Children are introduced to musical notation; both rythmic and melodic. The ensemble aspect of music making is emphasized through the creating, reading and performing of music together, cultivating musical behaviours. (7 - 10 year olds; recorders will be required).
