Kalev Estienne Rhythmic Gymnastics is a non-profit organization and an affiliated member of Gymnastics Ontario and Gymnastics Canada. It is the oldest and largest school of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Canada, founded in 1951, with a lengthy and prestigious history of contributions to the sport Nationally and Internationally.

Evelyn Koop is Kalev’s President and Program Director, the founder of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Canada, and the founder of Gymnastics Ontario in 1969 and Gymnastics Canada in 1971. She was also the Vice President of the Canadian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (CAGG) Federation for 8 years. She was Canada’s highest ranking judge, as well as a level 4 coach and a lifetime honorary member of the International Gymnastics Generations, Technical Committee (FIG) and of Gymnastics Ontario and Gymnastics Canada.

Kalev’s members have performed and competed all over the world:

Australia, China, Japan, South Africa, and all over Europe, and North and South America (including Hawaii). Kalev gymnast Camille Martens and Emilie Livingston represented Canada at the Olympics in 1996 and 2000 respectively. Kalev’s Junior RG Group won bronze at 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore. Kalev’s Senior RG Group won silver at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico and represented Canada in London Olympics in 2012. Kalev’s Junior RG Group qualified for the 2012 Pan-American Games in Argentina. Kalev’s Cassie Brand qualified as a member of the National Junior Group to compete at the 2014 Youth Olympics Games in Nanjing, China.

For the first time, in 2001, Kalev Aesthetic Group Gymnastics team represented Canada at Wold Championships in Finland. Ever since, every year, Kalev’s AGG team placed in finals at international events. Kalev’s AGG team were gold medalist at 2014 Four Continent Championships in Toronto, Canada, and in 2015, they were bronze medalist at Four Continent Championships in Nagano, Japan.

Kalev offers Development Programs in Rhythmic Gymnastics for young children (4-6 years) and children (7-9 years), young teens (10-12 years) and teens (13 and up) by age and ability. Participants develop balance, flexibility, coordination and motor skill strength in a fun and stimulating environment!
