KIDS & US COMMUNITY CHILDCARE AND FAMILY EDUCATION CENTRES INC

Kids & Us Community Childcare and Family Education Centres is a community based, not for profit, charitable organization dedicated to meeting the need for accessible, rural child services in Grey and Bruce Counties.

We currently operate six Community Childcare Centres, an Ontario Early Years Centre and an additional ten Early Years outreach locations all dedicated to meeting the needs of children and families in our communities.

Our organisation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents who use our services. They provide leadership, feedback and guidance to our agency.

Terms and Conditions

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents. The licensee shall ensure that the total licensed capacity is not exceeded at any time.
A small group of school age children may be accommodated in the main centre provided the maximum capacity is not exceeded.
The operator is licensed to provide care for one group of 30 Primary/Junior School Age children and must meet the staff: child ratios identified in Schedule 1 of Ontario Regulation 137/15.
North Room - 22 Preschool age children
All rooms as set out in the shared space confirmation are approved for use by the child care program, based on licensed capacity, provided that the room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group. The operator is required to keep on file at the premises an up-to-date shared space confirmation. This confirmation must include the primary use of the room during the school day and must be made available to Ministry of Education staff upon request.
Window air conditioners are only to be in the windows during the months of June, July and August, as it reduces the 10% window space CCEYA requirement. An alternative means of air conditioning is to be explored.
South Room - 15 Toddler age children
Full compliance with all “in progress” items shall be fully met by May 27, 2016 and available for ministry review.

Director's Approval

Director approval is granted for the use of an area with less than 2.58 square metres of unobstructed floor space in a licensed kindergarten, primary/junior school-age and/or junior school-age group, based on the licensed capacity, provided that the same room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group as set out in the shared space confirmation.
Director’s Approval is granted for mixed age grouping pursuant to ss. 8(2) and (3) of Ontario Regulation 137/15
Director approval has been granted for Kindergarten and Primary/Junior school age children to bring bagged lunches pursuant to s.42(2)1 of Ontario Regulation 137/15.
