Terms and Conditions

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents.
The licensee shall include in their policy on ‘Prohibited Practices’ the method, timing, and the title of the person (supervisor or licensee) responsible for documenting and addressing results of observations. This revised policy is to be available for review to the ministry at all times.
The licensee shall ensure an extra staff will be available to assist with the ‘transition routine’ of the toddler children from the indoor playroom, down the front stairs and into the fenced playground and back into the indoor playroom. The licensee shall ensure this practice is clearly outlined in the ‘transition policy’ and the revised policy is to be available for review by the ministry at all times.
The licensee shall submit to the ministry by email and through CCLS, no later than December 4, 2015, two updated child accident reports signed by each child’s parents for an incident which took place on September 11, 2015. The licensee shall ensure the information recorded on the reports is complete and includes the details as described to ministry staff by the program staff involved in the incident.
Guidelines and sample menus for preparing bag lunches/snacks which meet the recommendations set out in the Health Canada documents “Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide” as well as procedures for refrigeration or the use of ice packs with bag lunches, shall be provided to each parent and posted at the centre. The operator shall review this information with parents at the time of enrolment and the information shall be included in the centre’s parent handbook. The centre shall ensure back-up procedures are in place if a bag lunch/snack is forgotten.
The licensee will implement a policy and procedure for all staff that will ensure every bagged lunch is labelled and that the nutritional standards of the lunches are following Canada's Food Guide on a daily basis. A written record is to be retained for the duration of the licence and be available for ministry review at all times.
The licensee shall ensure that at all times, car seats and booster seats used to transport day care children in vehicles are installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. This also applies at any time a car seat or booster seat is removed and reinstalled.
The licensee shall ensure that the daily vehicle and bus log forms provided to the operator on June 15, 2015 by the ministry are included in the operator's vehicle transportation policy. Any previous forms used by the operator are to be discontinued and the ministry forms implemented immediately. These forms shall be available for review by Ministry staff at all times.
The licensee will use 2 plastic visual warning signals to stop drivers while children are crossing the parking lot on their way to their playground. All staff must sign off having been instructed to use these signals.
The licensee shall ensure that infants (0 to 18 months) that are included in the toddler group (18 to 30 months) as part of the mixed age grouping, are able to follow the toddler program and schedule.
The capacity of 108 children is conditional on the operator having dedicated use of all washrooms approved on the floor plans from September 2, 2014. The program staff will have shared use of the staff washroom within the private school.
