PSB focuses on teaching classical ballet in both the Cecchetti and the Royal Academy of Dance styles and offers classes for ages 3 to Adult.
Programs include recreational, pre-professional, and competitive, depending on age and ability, in various dance forms, including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Acro, Tap, and Musical Theatre. The school offers intensive dance training for talented students who wish to pursue a professional career in dance, as well as the opportunity to perform with PSB's Profile Dance Company and Competitive Team.
The school has added an enhanced intensive program for serious pre-professional students in Grades 7 to Grade 12 at PSB's main location (Rylander), Tuesdays through Fridays, 3:30 to 6:00 pm, in ballet (daily), pointe, lyrical, tap, jazz, conditioning, and repertoire. Entrance into both the intensive dance and enhanced intensive programs is by audition only. PSB also offers special boys intensive ballet coaching.
Summer dance programs are offered for both intensive and recreational students. PSB takes pride in the quality of dance instruction provided, and students are taught by the finest of highly qualified dance teachers. As a result of the excellent dance training students receive at PSB, many of its students are accepted at Canada's most prestigious dance schools: the National Ballet School of Canada, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Alberta Ballet School and Quinte Ballet School. Through participation in study abroad dance programs, students have been accepted to study full-time at "L'Académie Méditerranéenne de danse" in Marseille, France. PSB is especially proud that several alumni have completed post-secondary degrees and have become certified to teach dance, and some of the alumns are currently teaching at PSB.
