AL: Swim Instructor Update Clinic

Designed for those certified in Lifesaving Instructor and/or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, this 4 hour workshop certifies participants in the Toronto Learn to Swim Program. AL: Wading Pool Attendant & SFA/CPR-C

The Wading Pool Attendant award is designed to provide lifesavers the knowledge and skill to supervise a Wading Pool. In Ontario, a wading pool is a pool of water less than 0.75 metres (2 feet, 6 inches) in depth. This course includes Standard First Aid with CPR-C (unless otherwise noted). Adapted Cooking

Cooking programs teach participants the basics of how to measure and combine ingredients while making delicious and nutritious recipes that consider Canada's Food Guide. There is a variety of interest-specific cooking courses available that focus on a particular technique such as baking or recipes from a specific culture. The City of Toronto and its staff cannot guarantee that the foods or supplies within its cooking programs is free of allergens. Notify staff at your cooking program location of any food allergens or dietary restrictions.

Swimming strokes and water safety. Prerequisite: Ability to swim 15 metres continuously on front or back and a willingness to increase comfort in deep water. Adult 2 develops one or more swimming strokes, working towards proficiency and increased endurance, and introduces or enhances water safety knowledge and skills relevant to the student.

Adult Swim: Swim Fit

The philisophy of this course is to promote and encourage fitness through the sport of swimming; to improve the swimming level of participants through stroke improvement and competitive swimming events; and to promote fun and friendship through informal social activities. Due to the nature of practices, it is required that adults (20 years+) are able to swim eight lengths of the pool continuously. Four lengths of the eight must be completed in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Registration Methods

  • Online Registration
  • Touch Tone (TTR): Call 416-338-0000 between 7:00am and midnight beginning on the session registration start date until the first day of the program; Call 416-3 38-4386 once a program starts.
  • Operator Assisted: Call 416-338-4FUN (4386) to register with a Customer Service Representative
  • In-Person & Drop-Off: Register in person at a designated civic or community centre on registration day or between 8:30am and 4:30pm from the day after registration day until the third class of the program
