We are located at 375 Dovercourt Road just south of College on the second floor of the former Old Orchard Public School. Our entrance is at the back of the building. We offer a bilingual casa program with an arts extension in bright, airy classrooms. Our after school clubs in French, Art, Knitting, Orff and Science are open to the community. We also offer summer camps, weekend workshops and Friday morning Orff baby circles.
After School Clubs for 2015
After-School Clubs
We are pleased to add Shaolin Kung Fu (Monday) and Yoga (Tuesday) to our after school athletics offerings. We will continue to offer multi-sport (Wednesday and Friday) as well as Orff (Thursday). Upstairs, we will offer Geography (Monday), Art (Tuesday), Science (Wednesday), and French (Thursday) clubs. Costs are $18 per day and include after school snack. Complementary pickups from OOPS, YMCA and West End Parents are also available and dismissal is at 5.30.
Montessori Enrichment
We will be offering literacy and numeracy tutoring inspired by Montessori methodology to students from all backgrounds who want or need extra support in math and language. These will be small group classes led by our Head Directress Melody Incledon at a cost of $30 per class. Limited spaces are available on Thursdays from 4.30-5.30.
Orff for Babies and Toddlers
We offer Orff circles for children 2 years and under from 10-10.30 in the gym downstairs. Like our after school program, the Orff circles are led by Anna Rutledge and introduce children to basic concepts of rhythm, harmony and narrative. The cost is $20 per class and the next session will begin the third week of January.
Science and French Summer Camps 2015
Summer Camp registration is now open for our summer adventures. Fees are $290 per week. Children should bring their own lunch, water bottle, sunhat and sunscreen to camp.
July’s science camp is open to children aged 3-8 years of age. Older children will work in small groups on enquiry-based studies in the afternoon while younger children will have a chance to rest and enjoy some quiet time. Older children have a $20 activity fee tacked on to cover trips on Fridays tied into the theme of the week.
Led by our French casa assistants (and gym teacher) this year, our August French Camp is for children aged 3-7 and will combine elements of outdoor fun, art, music and sport. We will spend plenty of time in the sunshine, follow the Pan AM games and make lots of art.
