Most of all, you want your child to get the attention and love he or she needs to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. 

History

For over 40 years,  the YMCA of Greater Toronto has provided quality licensed child care programs with exceptionally high standards of care and education meeting or exceeding Provincial and Municipal licensing requirements. . Today we are the largest not for profit provider of Licensed Child Care in Canada with programs for children from infancy to 12 years throughout the GTA. All of our centres open early and close late to fit the schedule of parents and families.  

We currently operate:

  • More than 250 licensed child care programs
  • Programming for infants to 12 years of age
  • Programs for children in half day and alternating day kindergarten (full day care is available space permitting during school breaks and P.A. Days)
  • Part-time program options in select locations
  • Standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday,  7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents. The licensee shall ensure that the total licensed capacity is not exceeded at any time.
All rooms as set out in the shared space confirmation are approved for use by the child care program, based on licensed capacity, provided that the room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group. The operator is required to keep on file at the premises an up-to-date shared space confirmation. This confirmation must include the primary use of the room during the school day and must be made available to Ministry of Education staff upon request. Before changes are made to shared space the operator shall obtain an up to date signed shared space confirmation document.
Room 107 is licensed for use by a Kindergarten group of 26 children.
Once the centre is operational, the operator shall ensure that Toronto Public Health is informed and a follow-up inspection is conducted. The operator shall submit written confirmation from Toronto Public Health to the Ministry verifying that a follow-up inspection has been conducted.
The operator to submit confirmation that the DWIS # has been obtained from the Ministry of the Environment.
Within 30 days of commencing operation the operator shall ensure that a set of drinking water samples are taken and tested and submit a Laboratory Services Notification (LSN) form to the Ministry of Environment. The operator shall provide proof of submission to the Regional Office of the Ministry of Education.
The licensee shall submit an action plan to the Ministry by September 18, 2015 that demonstrates how full compliance will be achieved on items identified as “in progress” on the Summary of Child Care Centre Licensing Requirements and Recommendations report

Director's Approval

Director approval is granted for the use of specified rooms/areas that may have less than 2.58 square metres of unobstructed floor space for each child in a licensed kindergarten, primary/junior school age and/or junior school age group, based on the licensed capacity, provided that the same room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group.
