Choosing the right child care centre can be one of the hardest decisions parents and guardians have to make. You want a child care provider with the experience to keep your child safe and happy. You want your child to learn and grow in a stimulating and fun environment. Most of all, you want your child to get the attention and love he or she needs to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. 

History

For over 40 years,  the YMCA of Greater Toronto has provided quality licensed child care programs with exceptionally high standards of care and education meeting or exceeding Provincial and Municipal licensing requirements. . Today we are the largest not for profit provider of Licensed Child Care in Canada with programs for children from infancy to 12 years throughout the GTA. All of our centres open early and close late to fit the schedule of parents and families.  

We currently operate:

  • More than 250 licensed child care programs
  • Programming for infants to 12 years of age
  • Programs for children in half day and alternating day kindergarten (full day care is available space permitting during school breaks and P.A. Days)
  • Part-time program options in select locations
  • Standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday,  7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents.
Room 145 - 20 children, 68 months of age as of August 31 of the year up to and including12 years of age
Room 126 - 20 children, 68 months of age as of August 31 of the year up to and including 12 years of age
The operator shall follow the approved plan of action to ensure that policies are reviewed with staff by managers and a record of that review includes both signatures
Room 146 is licensed for a group of 20 kindergarten children until August 31, 2015 when the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect. Once the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect, Room 146 is licensed for a group of 26 kindergarten children.

Director's Approval

Once the Child Care and Early Years Act and regulations come into effect, Director Approval is granted for the use of a room or area with less than 2.58 square metres of unobstructed floor space for each child in a licensed kindergarten, primary/junior school age and/or junior school age group, based on the licensed capacity, provided that the same room or area is used by the school for children who are the same age as the age category of the licensed age group as set out in the shared space confirmation.

Ministry Director approval granted for the use of the unfenced yard at E B PHIN Public School as per sec 22b
As of August 31, 2015, Director’s Approval is granted for mixed age grouping pursuant to ss. 8(2) and (3) of Ontario Regulation 137/15.
